ikshu: yes i have
me: what?
ikshu: just now u asked have u ever said yes to anything and i said yes!

reminds me of the 2 vaazhappazam joke!!

ikshu (complaining about raisins in the breakfast cereal): i don't like kismis in corn flakes
me: yday u complained about idlis and wanted cereals - today i give you cereals and u have something to complain about that too? what will you do if u go to some place where you can't get, say curd?
ikshu goes silent and angry not talking - goes to balcony and stands there staring into space - i coax him to talk finally and the tears start rolling down! how can u say that i will be in a place where i can't get curd!! had to give him stories about arctic / antartic expeditions where you can't get curd to get him to stop crying!!

Ikshu waking up in the morning : wonder what today's game is (about the google doodle games during olympics)...
j: the games are not the best - its just some basic stuff

ikshu got bored at an engagement the previous day and didn't want to go to the marriage - he started his morning with i don't want to go

me: ok, you go tell daadi that you don't want to go to the marriage and if she agrees you don't have to go
ikshu: (after a discussion with daadi) she says she won't go if i don't go
me: see u can't do that to her - she really wants to go this wedding and u can't make her not go
ikshu: you really think she won't go if i don't go?

picking ikshu up from a sleep over at mom's -
ikshu: u know what happened - y'day we went to benison (supermarket) and whatever i looked at paati said u want that? take it
me: yeah all grandparents pamper kids, daadi will get u whatever u want, paati will and thaatha will
ikshu:yeah thats why i like grandparents. and remember you are going to be a grandparent too.
later i was narrating this to jayesh and ikshu adds for good measure - you already have the grey hair!

i have to record this for posterity - for ikshu's day party - supriya's t-shirt read - "its nuts how sweet we are 2gether"!!!!

ikshu (on a day we forgot to pack a water bottle): i was thirsty for 8 hrs!
me: u could have shared the water from someone?
ikshu: but we have to be same blood group, right?
